Detour!

That's right, I'm detouring from the Super-sized Christmas Post to update you on our exciting day.

I recently was invited to participate in a group show at Galleria Vivice in Stafford Springs, CT. The whole thing was a bit of a whirlwind. I saw an opportunity, acted on it and within 24 hours had an art show scheduled to open this Sat!

So we loaded the girls up in the mini van....

Gaea

Persephone

Artemis

Pandora
Daphne

Amphritrite

It was hard to say good-bye,

the girls have been decorating the walls of my home for several years,

but it was time to go.

The Mythological Women series will be on exhibit at the Galleria Vivice for 3 weeks.

After the gallery we headed to Nita's diner for some late breakfast......and Tripp drank all of my orange juice!

Choo! Choo!

That evening we put his train-table together, much to Tripp's delight!

Our little train conductor is a happy camper! With all the different things to play with; train, crane, people, cars, etc and his Choo Choo hat; he is thoroughly entertained!

It has taken over our Living room! We better get to work on that playroom!

Super-Sized Christmas Post - Part 1

So Many Pictures!

So Many Toys!

In fact, we took so many pictures that this will be a multi-part post...
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
Tripp was nestled all snug in his bed,While visions of sugar-plums danced in his head......

We started our morning off by sleeping in. Tripp snuggled in bed with us until 9am! Then we had a yummy breakfast of buns from the KP Bakery.

Bob & I have been together for 10+ years, and he has been to NY many times......but he still insists these are donuts!

No matter, Tripp loves those crumb buns!

Yummy!

After a light breakfast, it was time to open presents! If there was any doubt before, there's none now...Tripp is Spoiled! He got sooo many toys for Christmas!

Uncle Brian gave him a Tickle Me Elmo TMX. It was a big hit - Tripp thinks it is hysterical. Brian sent one to our niece, Faith, for Christmas too......I hope she thinks this Elmo is as funny as Tripp does!

Yo Gabba Gabba!

Woo! Hoo! A train set and table!

Grandma Amy completed the look with a wooden whistle, train hat & bandanna. Our little train conductor is going to look sharp!

...with all of these new toys...Tripp's favorite was an old flash light!

Special Ornaments

And of course there were plenty of funny gifts!

(naked lady golf tees)

Yup

(The Grandmother tote)

(Snuggies!)

Nap time..........end of part 1

Christmas Eve

Whew! Yesterday was a whirlwind - final preparations for the Holiday, packing, loading up the mini van, exchanging daycare gifts, driving to NY, etc... but we finally arrived! After a brief "Hi!" to Grands Capano, Bob & I were back out on the road and heading to an impromptu high school reunion. It has been almost 15 years! An old friend created a facebook event to promote everyone having a night out while home for the holidays and about 40 people from my graduating class all gathered at a local bar. It was great to see everyone! Unfortunately I forgot to unpack my camera, so no reunion pics....until they are loaded and tagged on facebook!
Christmas eve was a day full of yummy food, long naps, a couple of gifts and an afternoon visit with preggo Aly.

When we arrived at Aly's home she was busy doing some last minute Christmas wrapping and Tripp had a blast playing with her paper scraps!

Tripp showed off his jumping skills by launching himself off of the step down at Aly's house

Aly joined in...1, 2, 3, Jump!

After a super yummy Christmas Eve dinner, Tripp was allowed to open a couple of gifts. 1st gift, a new Christmas footsie! Then off to the bath!

All clean in his new footsie PJs, Tripp opened gifts from Great Gramps and Great Uncle Steve

Yeah! Mickey Mouse & Dinosaur Trucks!

Then off to slumber land. The news reporter said they had a Santa sighting over NY - so quick to bed so Santa can make some Christmas cheer deliveries!
