Poor Tripp! Our little man is just now getting over his cold. He had a virus that turned into a sinus infection. It's been 2 weeks of sneezes, coughing, puffy eyes, fevers & diarrhea...the only perk was his need to snuggle when he's ill.
Unfortunately he's not always the best cuddler. Sometimes he whines until it becomes a scream or grunts and refuses to speak - as though he's so sick he can barely make a sound - so pathetic! But, cuddling and snoozing are definitely the majority of the time so, when he got a little pissy...he almost always got his way! Spoiled! What can we say? We're suckers for our sick little man, anything to make him feel better!
...so, we did a lot of cuddling
......and while Bob was under the weather and home from work with him,
They played video games.
and yes, Tripp knows how to use a mouse!
He can't say Cedar yet, he says Cea!
He keeps trying to mount and ride Cea! Luckily she is such a good dog and never nips, growls or whirls around. She will, however, give him a grunt and a butt check!
...we ate a lot of pastina.Pastina has always been a comfort food for me and I am happy to see that my son follows suit!
During this illness, our bottomless pit lost his appetite! He stuck mostly to a liquid diet of yogurt smoothies, but he also has a couple of comfort foods.
The great thing about his love of pastina is, that it's easy to mix puree veggies in!
......we watched a bunch of movies (probably too many), and Tripp loved lounging in his chair.
It's amazing how kids mimic our actions. Bob almost always has a blanket on him while he lounges on the recliner and now Tripp has his own lap blanket.
...and he continued to draw on the chalkboard cabinets - with colored chalk!
As a special treat for Valentine's Day, a caramel apple - yummy!
No cold is gonna stop him from devouring his apple!
Caramel Face!
.....we played with Play Doh
The duration of Tripp's cold lasted through my winter break. It was lucky, because I did not have to use up all of my sick days...although it did throw a descent size monkey wrench into my plans.
I had a grand plan to do some re-arranging, painting and organizing over my vacation - I'll post pics of the finished projects on my other blog page (DIY Copley) as soon as I'm done.
..but always the helper, Tripp wouldn't allow Mickey Mouse to distract him while there was paint out. He abandoned his comfy throne and was immediately by my side looking to help.
